Music education is an on-going, cumulative process, and is not taught “by the lesson”. The commitment to you and/or your children is a continuing one; this means more than simply being there at the lessons. It means committing to, taking and interest in, and actively considering the needs of each student and family in the studio. "Behind the scenes” I continually update my teaching strategies; I attend conventions and workshops for new ideas; I maintain memberships to numerous professional organizations, as follows:
American Federation of Musicians, Local 325 (AFM)
The largest organization in the world representing the interests of professional musicians, the American Federation of Musicians of the United States and Canada helps thousands of musicians everyday. Whether negotiating fair agreements, protecting ownership of recorded music, securing benefits such as health care and pension, or lobbying our legislators, the AFM is committed to raising industry standards and placing the professional musician in the foreground of the cultural landscape.
San Diego Music Teachers Association of California (MTAC)The Music Teachers' Association of California is a professional organization of approximately 4,700 members. Since 1897, MTAC has dedicated its efforts towards the pursuit of excellence in music education. As one of the sixty-seven branches throughout the state, the San Diego Branch maintains an exciting array of programs and activities and participates in state-wide projects and programs.
